Oscar winner Tom Hanks is getting set for a new honour that celebrates his talent and contribution to cinema.
The Film Society of Lincoln Centre will pay tribute to the actor on 27th April at their 36th annual celebrations. Kent Jones, the Society's Associate Director of programming, says, "There are so few actors who have been able to make the struggle and drama of being a good man compelling. With his talent, his presence, his versatility, his sense of humour, he has set a very high standard for his fellow actors." Last year, Meryl Streep was thus honoured.
For Tom, who has won Best Actor Oscars for Philadelphia in 1993 and 1994's Forrest Gump, this is one more gem in his crown of honours.
