Britney Spears has struggled greatly to get her personal and professional life back on track. But she seems to be still struggling to get back her groove when it comes to live performances, something she used to happily perform before her breakdown two years ago.
Britney, who is on a tour right now, has already been criticized for her lacklustre performances, lip-synching and turning her back to the audience for most of the show in Perth. And now, her Melbourne show has been slammed by the Sydney Morning Herald, which said the pop princess "delivered a show that veered from passable to downright bad!" Others described her stage presence as "detached" and in "a state of mild apathy" and to make matter worse, she disappeared backstage often and the stage was left only with acrobats doing their stuff on it. But for devout Britney fans who feared she may never get back on the stage again, seeing her alone was a sign of hope. "She's here, that's what counts," some said.
