Charlize Theron is completely bowled over by her co-artist in Hancock – Will Smith. She says he is truly "inspiring". The actress lauded Will Smith for the go-getter he is. She said, "He could so easily just lean back and bask in the glory he has attained so far. He is so big. But he shows up and works incredibly hard. I am truly inspired by him." The two actors have earlier shared screen space in The Legend of Bagger Vance in 2000.
In Hancock, a comedy superhero flick, Charlize plays Mary, wife of a public relations consultant Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman). Ray feels obliged to Hancock (Smith), who saves his life, and therefore decides to help him repair his bad image. In this film, Hancock is a superhero with a difference. He is always drunk, careless, and has no respect for authority. Though he is saving lives, people hate him for the collateral damage he leaves behind during his superhero endeavours.
According to her, Hancock would be a very new experience to the audience and it will herald the emergence of a new genre of films. "I have never said this about any film, but this film is really original. We took a genre that audiences are quite familiar with and did something very unique." Theron said.
