As crazy as it sounds, it's true! Back in the 80s, when Cher was 39, and Tom Cruise was 23, the two were dating for a few months. And Cher believes that they got on so well, that but for their hectic schedules, there would have been a memorable and powerful romance.
The two met at a fund-raiser in the White House and got on famously. They dated for many months up until Tom met Mimi Rogers whom he married. But while they were together, Cher says, she was crazy about him! He was one of the few men who could be with her and not be intimidated by her fame, because he had his own to take care of. Cher claims that she is now single primarily because it's hard to get a man who can handle her fame without feeling smothered by it.
