The Dark Knight is rocking the cine scene the world over, but parents in Britain have raised protests against the 12A certification the movie has been given. 12A implies that the movie is suited for those above the age of 12, while kids below 12 need to watch the movie accompanied by an adult. Given the violence in the movie, several parents have complained at the British Board of Film Classification [BBFC] that the movie should have been certified as suitable only for those over 15 years.
A BBFC spokeswoman says, "It is a fantasy film about unrealistic characters who also wear body armour and can walk off buildings and fly. This is the first film this year to have had any fuss made about its category. Some of the complaints are from people who think other people should not be taking their children to see it."
