And when he does, it’s not just to get wet! You can bet your life there’s a trick up his sleeve!
David Blaine ranks high up on charts in the magical arts; he has performed death-defying tasks time and again. He’s been buried alive, frozen in a block of ice and has even stood atop a 100 foot pole, but he can never be satiated. His next stunt, to be performed on The Oprah Winfrey Show on 30th April 2008, will have him going under water and holding his breath for longer than has been done before. The current record is held by Tom Sietas, who held his breath underwater for 16 minutes and 14 seconds. David is all set to break this record.
The next record David wants to break is for sleep deprivation! Tony Wright from England managed to stay wake for 11.5 days, but given the immense risk caused to his mental health, the Guinness officials refused to record his feat. David has been through greater trauma many times, so we can be sure he will escape unscathed.
