Emma Watson of Harry Potter fame says that she struggled with growing up in the public spotlight. Emma found it exceedingly difficult because millions of people watched her transform from a little girl into a woman.
Emma was just 9 when she appeared in the first Harry Potter and was forced to grow up in front of legions of adoring fans. This constant scrutiny has been hard to take, Emma says. "In a way, it's hard to grow up inside a film. I lived a period of my life that is full of lessons and changes under the spotlight. People have the strange feeling of knowing me intimately because they have seen my transformation from child to woman, albeit only on screen." But in spite of it all, Emma managed to enjoy her childhood. "I wouldn't want my childhood in show business to have been any different. Some days, I wish my life were simpler, but the rest of the time, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world."
