Alan Panettiere, Hayden Panettiere's father, was taken into custody in West Hollywood early on 11 August after allegedly attacking his wife Leslie at a party. He has now been charged with misdemeanour battery after allegedly assaulting his wife last month. Though Laslie and Alan insisted that the arrest was a big misunderstanding, the Los Angeles authorities insist otherwise. Alan will be arraigned next month in Beverly Hills. He faces an year in county jail if convicted.
