It’s been two days since Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother were shot dead in their Chicago home, and now, we understand that the child's body has been found. Julian King, Jennifer’s seven-year-old nephew, who had been in the same house when the murders took place, had been missing since then. Searches and investigations into the double murder and the disappearance are on. Jennifer, however, went one step ahead, and offered a prize money of $100,000 to anybody who ensured the safe return of her sister’s missing child.
A statement from Jennifer’s rep, Lisa Kasteler, said, "Jennifer and her family appreciate the enormous amount of love, support and prayers they have received while she and her family try to cope with this tragedy and continue the search for Julian," and added details about the reward money. The statement also urged the public to contact the Chicago police if they had any information or queries. "We ask that all inquiries be directed to the Chicago Police Department, Area 1 Detective Division at 312/747-8380."
The FBI confirmed they are assisting the Chicago police in this case. "I can confirm that we have been asked to provide assistance to the Chicago police department to assist in the search for 7-year-old Julian King," said Ross Rice, special agent and spokesman for the Chicago office of FBI. As for any promising leads, she said, "The key word there is assisting. It is still a Chicago police investigation, both the murder and the kidnapping, and any announcements would be best to come from them."
