At the launch of his new album ‘808s & Heartbreak’, rapper Kanye West says that the MTV awards are rigged. He is pretty upset with the choice of winners for the MYV Video Music Awards in the US and in Britain this year. Kanye, who won the Ultimate Urban award at the European MTV awards, said he won it just because he had showed up at the event! He said, "Britney Spears over Rihanna? Are you serious? I mean, Jared Leto? He's my boy but he shouldn't have won over some of those other artistes. I won nothing last year and I'd brought out 'Stronger'. Then this year, just because I was there, I won best urban act."
It’s notable that Britney Spears, who went through some pretty bad times earlier this year and who made quite a fool of herself at last year’s MTV Awards, won the main awards in the US and in Europe.
