It’s been a while since the tragic attack on the Twin Towers, but the loss is too tremendous to forget.
Actors Billy Crystal and Robert De Niro are spearheading a campaign to build a memorial for the victims of the 9/11 attacks in New York. Billy Crystal, who took part in a benefit concert a month after the 2001 attack, is the director of National September 11 Memorial and Museum Foundation. He said he was honoured to join the organization and have the opportunity to "contribute to the creation of a permanent national memorial". He added that the project is "an opportunity to demonstrate New York's strength and resolve, whilst ensuring that the memories of the lives lost are never forgotten."
The New York site will include two waterfalls where the twin towers of the World Trade Centre previously stood.
