Comedian Jamie Foxx credits Oprah Winfrey for having refined his personality. The actor’s new MTV show, From G's to Gents in America, debuted earlier this week. The show is an effort to teach socially-challenged men how to perfect their modern-day etiquette. And Jamie insists it was Oprah who whipped him into shape before he became an Oscar winner.
He says, "Oprah Winfrey said, `Before they give the Oscar out, there's a certain way you have to campaign and carry yourself.' Being a comedian, I was sort of looking at everything as like, 'Oh, it's a joke,' and she said, 'No, you really need to take it seriously,' and she took me and introduced me to Sidney Poitier and all these other different actors. I had to change."
