It was Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson that the producers of hit TV show The X-Files originally had their eye on to play the character Agent Dana Scully!
Gillian Anderson, who eventually played the part and made a success of it, insists that Twentieth Century Fox wanted to cast the blonde beauty instead. She says, "Pamela Anderson was somebody who was more familiar to them in terms of what was on TV at that time. They were looking for someone bustier, taller, leggier than me. At the beginning, nobody trusted that I could do anything. I had no body of work behind me at all, and certainly Fox felt very strongly that I wasn't the right person for the job."
