J.K. Rowling, creator of the magical Hogwarts and the reigning hero Harry Potter contributed an 800 word prequel to the series, to be a part of 'What’s your story', a collection of short stories. The book includes stories written by 13 other well-known literary names and was released in Britain recently. More than 10,000 copies of the book were sold out the day it hit the stands, and it is strongly believed that the Potter Prequel was the main attraction. The profits from the book will be donated to charities Dyslexia Action and English Pen, an organisation that aims to promote literature between different cultures.
Rowling's 800-word story is set three years before the boy wizard's birth and focuses on Harry's father, James Potter, during his teenage years with his friend Sirius Black. She signs off with the words: "From the prequel I am not working on - but that was fun!" The final book in the Harry Potter series is out and will be made into a film soon. Right now the writer is busy with a book of fairytales that she mentions in the last Potter book. The new book is titled 'Tales of Beedle, the Bard' and is due for release in December.
