Even when Britney Spears works hard to keep away from negativity, the people around her just won’t let go. On the insistence of her dad, who was convinced that her ex-manager Sam Lufti and ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib were out to ruin her, she went right ahead and got restraining orders against them. So now it’s Sam’s turn to pick a big fat juicey bone to pick with the Spears. He does not seem to have half as much wrath against the pop princess as he has against her parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, and he has gone right ahead and filed a case against them for defamation and breach of contract.
The LA court documents reveal that Sam is claiming libel, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The legal documents read, "Jamie and Lynne launched a campaign of lies and intimidation designed to destroy Lutfi and drive him out of Britney's life. This campaign also provided Jamie with the opportunity he needed to obtain an appointment as Britney's conservator. Despite seemingly accomplishing their objectives, Jamie and Lynne have nevertheless continued their smear campaign against Lutfi. Thus, having no other alternative, Lutfi brings this action to defend himself against Jamie's and Lynne's persistent attacks."
Moving on to Lynne Spears in particular, it’s her book ‘Through the Storm’ that has distressed Sam, because it suggests that he had taken complete control over Britney’s life, giving her no breathing space or room for growth. These allegations he dubs as ‘lies and fabrication’. The lawsuit goes on to say, "Since the publication of the book, Lutfi has been subjected to unfathomable amounts of ridicule and scorn, and has received numerous death threats from overzealous fans. Furthermore, Lufti can no longer find work as a counsellor of at-risk teens."
Coming to the aspect of breach of contract, Sam insists that he and Britney had an oral agreement, which was later confirmed over SMS, that he would be compensated 15% of her earnings as her manager. The text message from Britney says, "Sam, so that's fine, I want you to be my manager, you were right, its 15% of my money but for 4 years not 5," and Sam claims that he hasn't received any payment for his services to the pop star.
