The third instalment in the Shrek series, Shrek the Third, created a record at the international box office by grossing an estimated $69.6 million. The movie has broken the U.K. box office record too, by grossing an estimated $16.67 million, which is the biggest opening for an animated movie at the British box office. The computer-animated movie is the third part of the Shrek series after Shrek, and Shrek 2. The movie, produced by Jeffrey Katzenberg for DreamWorks Animation, has voiceover by Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz.
Transformers stood at second position at the international box office, grossing an estimated $34.7 million while Live Free or Die Hard took the third slot with an estimated $30.7 million. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Ocean’s Thirteen and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End grossed $14 million each.
