Sting has installed a high wire in his home in order to emulate his tight-rope walker idol Phillipe Petit. Sting, who is known for his athletic interests, revealed this quaint hobby at the Tribeca Film Festival during the premiere of a documentary tribute to Petit.
Phillipe Petit rose to fame and found a place in the Guinness Book of Records when he walked from one Twin Tower in New York to the other on a tight-rope connecting the 110th floors of both buildings. The world watched with bated breath as Petit braved the height and the gusts of wind and made it across. He has also performed similar stunts on France's Notre Dame Cathedral and Australia's Sydney Harbour Bridge.
