The Florida Police have confirmed that Anna Nicole Smith died of accidental drug overdose. According to the medical examination results, Smith had taken several medications. Reportedly a bacterial infection from injecting medication in her buttocks led to her death.
She had also taken chloral hydrate, a sedative used to treat insomnia, to relieve anxiety and ease post-surgery pain, which if taken with certain other drugs is known to be fatal. Smith, 39, was found unresponsive Feb. 8 in her room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida, three days after the birth of her daughter.
