George Clooney, who played Batman in the 1997 movie Batman and Robin, believes that even though critics trashed the movie, it was that very movie that shot him to super stardom. The movie was a commercial success but did not impress movie critics much. George himself is embarrassed by his poor performance in it, yet he insists that playing the caped crusader helped raise his profile in the acting world.

He says, "I don't regret anything. With hindsight, it's easy to look back at Batman and go, 'Whoa, that was really crap, and I was really bad in it.' The truth is, Batman is still the biggest break I ever had. It changed my career. I wouldn't be doing this now if it hadn't been for Batman."

Looks like Batman saved the day, after all – for George at least!
