Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts was presented with the 2007 American Cinematheque Award during a ceremony held on Friday in Los Angeles. The actress, who presented this award to George Clooney last year, became the 22nd winner of the award this year.
Present during the occasion were her husband Danny Moder, director Mike Nicholas, Tom Hanks, Bruce Willis, Dermot Mulroney, Sally Field, Natalie Portman, Blair Underwood, and others. The 39-year-old actress said that she was most happy in her roles of a wife and a mother.
She married Danny Moder in 2002; they have three children. Roberts won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for best actress for her performance in Steven Soderbergh’s Erin Brockovich.
The American Cinematheque Award is presented annually since its inception in 1986 in honour of actors, directors, and writers and uses the events to raise money to help support aspiring filmmakers. Steven Spielberg, Nicole Kidman, Sean Connery, Al Pacino, Martin Scorsese, George Clooney and Tom Cruise are some of the recipients of the previous Cinematheque Award.
