Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman has backed out of the upcoming World War II drama, The Reader, as she is pregnant with her first biological child with husband Keith Urban. The Reader is the big screen adaptation of German author Bernhard Schlink’s book to be directed by Stephen Daldry and starring Ralph Fieness. Nicole Kidman has now been replaced by Kate Winslet.
Kidman married Tom Cruise in 1990. The couple adopted two children, daughter Isabella Jane Cruise and son Connor Anthony Cruise. Kidman divorced Tom Cruise in 2001. She married Grammy-winning singer and guitarist, Keith Urban on June 25, 2006.
