After Paris Hilton, now Lindsay Lohan has been given a jail sentence. Lindsay Lohan has been charged with seven counts of misdemeanor, drug possession and drunken driving arising from two separate arrests.
Lohan lost control of her Mercedes Benz and struck a curb on May 26th, following which she was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence. Lohan was again arrested on July 24th following a car chase in the Los Angeles area community of Santa Monica.
She was found possessing cocaine during both the arrests. However as the amount of cocaine she possessed was below 0.05 grams, she was able to avoid more serious drug charges leading to a longer jail sentence.
Lohan pleaded 'no contest' to charges of possessing cocaine and drunken driving and will serve one day in jail, 10 days community service and 36 months of probation. The actress felt ashamed of her acts and admitted that she has broken the law. A Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge, has ordered Lohan to serve the one day jail sentence before January 18th and to attend eighteen months of alcohol education programme during her probation period.
