Walt Disney has signed Tim Burton to direct two 3D films. Burton will direct the remake of Alice in Wonderland with a script by Linda Woolverton. The film, based on Lewis Carroll classic children’s story, “Alice in Wonderland”, will combine CG animated performances and live-action footage, to be screened in 3D.
Burton will also direct and produce a full feature version of his 1984 short film, Frankenweenie. The movie tells the story of a pet dog, brought back to life by its devoted owner.
Burton’s film, Sweedy Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street starring Johnny Depp as the murderous barber, is slated for release in January.
