X-Men: The Last Stand the third and last film in the superhero trilogy, has hit theatres this weekend. It invaded the marketplace on Friday ready to dominate the current reigning leader of the box-office The Da Vinci Code, during the long Memorial Day holiday weekend.
Fox's PG-13 film is debuting in 3,689 theaters, slightly less than the 3,741 in which X2 debuted during the first weekend in May. Amid mostly positive reviews, the Marvel sci-fi action movie has a strong following among the audiences of all ages, but mostly youngsters and males.
